☁☼ DERBY AND HOLIDAYS BY THE SEA ☼☁
The BeachCamp will take place from Monday, August 24th to Sunday, August 30th.
Our BeachCamp is back this summer! A whole week of both Roller Derby and beach holidays! Mornings on the track and free afternoons, enjoy the beach sunsets, biking along the coast and camping. This year again, we’re leaving coaches and managers back home to go back to roller derby’s greatest strength: by the skaters, for the skaters!
☭ A typical day’s schedule
☼ Morning : workshops + scrimmage, from 9am to 1pm
✺ Afternoon : free time
☾ Evening : do you find after parties to always be too short? So do we.
☁ Night : we have some camping spots for those who wish to sleep under their tent.
☁☼ WHAT’S THE BEACHCAMP LIKE? ☼☁
Who can join?
Skaters of all levels are welcome: fresh meat experiencing their first scrimmages, medium-level skaters with a few bouts behind or more experienced skaters to whom equipment cheks are like daily routine.
It will be a co-ed bootcamp!
Officials are very welcome. The sports hall is big enough for you to have your own space and a scrimmage is planned everyday.
Who can conduct the workshops?
Any skater willing to share and pass on their experience, in a pure Roller Derby spirit. These coaches can volunteer to conduct workshops for a duration of 2 hours and a half (from 9am to 11:30am).
To thank you, we will refund you morning volunteering.
If you wish to conduct a workshop, you can register using beachcamp form coach!
What about the afternoons?
You are free to spend your afternoons the way you want!
The camping site is located near the beach so you can get all the sun and sand you need before the end of summer.
Outdoor activities: depending on the number of replies, we will offer you to benefit from negotiated rates for some outdoor activites (stand-up paddle, sea kayaking, orienteering, exploring the Bird Island, tree climbing, oyster tasting at L’Herbe, or even horse-riding). We’ll send you an e-mail in July.
